Very positive

8 reviews: 8 positive, 0 mixed, 0 negative. 8 of 8 recommend it.

Every reviewer recommends the F77 MKII. Most say the case wears thinner than its numbers imply, find the water resistance suits daily wear and swimming, and consider it strong value. Several single out the solid integrated bracelet, notable comfort, crisp brushed and polished surfaces, the dependable Soprod calibre, and a reissue that modernises the original with restraint.

Where they differ. Several reviewers find the lume too weak for night reading despite broad praise for the dial otherwise. Several say the proportions suit a range of wrist sizes, though one reviewer notes the 38mm case can feel small on larger builds.

An Often Overlooked 1970s Integrated Bracelet Icon Just Got Even Better

Video, 9 minHands-on reviewFeb 2026

Very positiveRecommends

The reviewer sees the F77 MKII as a faithful, well-made reissue with a subtle meteorite dial, thin comfortable case, quality bracelet and fair price. The only real complaints are the missing on-the-fly micro-adjust and near-absent lume.

Nivada Grenchen F77 Mark II Gold 4K Watch Review

Video, 53 minHands-on reviewMay 2025

PositiveRecommends, with caveats

Rates the F77 MKII gold as excellent quality, with finishing, bracelet, clasp and crown comparable to far pricier watches and outstanding comfort. The main flaw is the unlumed dauphine hands, and value is judged only okay given stiff competition.

Suits: Collectors with roughly 6–7 inch wrists, though it fits up to 9 inches

What they said, point by point
Dialmixed
  • Considers the deep glossy black dial a favourite feature, contrasting well with the gold indices. 6:46
  • Appreciates the restrained branding and text on the dial. 7:15
  • Finds the faceted dauphine hands finished to a very high level. 34:06
  • Sees the lume dots as pointless because the hands carry no lume, making night reading impossible. 34:34
Designpositive
  • Likes the box-style domed sapphire crystal and its vintage acrylic look. 7:44
  • Appreciates that the bezel screw slots are aligned with the octagon. 9:10
  • Personally likes the dauphine hands but notes purists may prefer the original baton hands. 46:03
Case & proportionspositive
  • Finds the curved case profile hugs the wrist better than the flat MKI. 11:34
  • Considers 12.2mm very thin for this movement. 38:54
  • Rates the screw-down crown action as extremely smooth, on par with Rolex. 26:58
  • Highlights the unusually slim rehaut, which keeps the dial close to the crystal. 31:16
Wearabilitypositive
  • Rates comfort as exceptional among 38mm watches. 41:47
  • Finds the 134g weight gives presence without being top-heavy. 41:47
  • Notes the long bracelet accommodates very large wrists. 35:03
Bracelet & strappositive
  • Praises articulation, tolerances and finishing of the bracelet. 13:57
  • Considers the micro-adjust clasp among the best in its price tier, as smooth as Rolex Glidelock. 20:40
  • Finds the aggressive 22 to 15.8mm taper suits the angular case. 15:24
  • Wishes half links were included for a more precise fit. 35:31
Finishing & buildpositive
  • Judges the case finishing equivalent to watches costing over €5,000. 25:03
  • Likes the rich yellow tone of the 18k gold plating versus cheaper PVD. 25:32
  • Impressed that even hidden clasp internals are gold plated flawlessly. 22:08
  • Finds the forged caseback smooth and comfortable against the wrist. 23:36
Movementpositive
  • Reports the example running at +3 s/day, within chronometer limits. 47:31
  • Appreciates the smooth 4Hz seconds sweep. 30:18
  • Considers the 38-hour power reserve adequate rather than impressive. 49:22
Functionalitymixed
  • Values the screw-down caseback and crown giving 100m for a daily/dress piece. 24:34
  • Finds lume performance negligible and night legibility absent. 44:38
Valuemixed
  • Explicitly rates value as okay rather than good or excellent. 49:51
  • Notes stiff competition from other brands using similar movements. 51:47
  • Credits the two-year international warranty as excellent in the mid tier. 2:56
Compared with
  • Nivada Grenchen F77 MKI: MKII is thinner, more curved and fits better, though MKI had lumed hands.
  • Rolex Submariner Date 16610: Crown action judged indistinguishable from Rolex Triplock.
  • Rolex Glidelock clasp: Micro-adjust clasp feels as smooth as Glidelock.
